Web3 is a Joke was founded in December 2022 by Mona Shaikh, a veteran comedian and producer who wanted to bridge the gap between comedy and Web3. The objective is to laugh, learn and link. Web3 is a Joke made its debut at Famecast in Los Angeles with Crypto WendyO, Altcoin Daily (Austin & Aaron Arnold), Shira Lazar, Phil Ranta and hilarious comedy by Erica Rhodes & Francisco Ramos.
Web3 is a Joke took Bitcoin Miami Conference 2023 by storm with a sold out comedy roast and a hilarious star studded lineup with Ben Armstrong aka Bitboy Crypto, Altcoin Daily (Austin & Aaron Arnold), Roast master Mona Shaikh along with MMA star Cris Cyborg as special guest and comedians from Miami and Los Angeles.
Launching with just 3 sold out events its first year, due to increased demand Web3 is a Joke has quadrupled its events in 2024 with events lined up at Bitcoin Nashville, London, Dubai and Buenos Aires among many.
Web3 is a Joke is set to offer a unique comedic experience in a sea of crypto, AI, Metaverse and NFT technical jargon. Comedy, crypto and Web3 lovers all can’t get enough of Web3 is a Joke.

Mona Shaikh is a stand-up comedian, producer of Minority Reportzand CEO & Founder of Web3 is a Joke. She has been featured on The Hollywood Reporter, CNN, MSNBC and has opened for Jay Leno, Patton Oswalt, Margaret Cho and performed with JoKoy.
She also emcee’d the Women’s March in SF in Jan 2019 and made history by being the first South Asian/Middle Eastern Female comedian to perform in front of over 60,000 people! She’s been featured in Forbes, LA Times, Newsweek, The Guardian, LA Weekly, New York Post, Huffington Post, Washington Post and BBC. She can also be seen on The Young Turks, The Stephanie Miller Show & John Fugelsang show on SiriusXM and Mo’Kelly Show on IHeartRadio. Mona has also headlined in Dubai, Portugal as well as London. In addition to being seen all around Los Angeles at major comedy clubs as The Comedy Store, The Stand Up Comedy Club, Flappers Comedy Club, Ice House Pasadena, Hollywood Improv and many more, she hosted the Hollywood Improv for Comedy Juice night with Dane Cook and has headlined The Laugh Factory Long Beach.
She became the first Pakistani female comedian to be selected for the Laugh’s Factory Funniest Person in the World Competition and made history by becoming the first Pakistani female comedian to headline Hollywood Improv.
